What is a prosthetic limb?

A prosthetic limb is an artificial substitute or replacement limb. The world’s first prosthetic body part is thought to be the ‘Cairo toe’ dating from between 950 to 710 BC. Modern prosthetic limbs include bionic 3D printed arms available on the NHS.
